Each and every wedding I photograph teaches me something new. Sometimes I learn little things like a better way to pin boutonnieres or how to wrangle drunk groomsmen into a straight line. But this one had a bigger lesson: life is better surrounded by the people you love.
Things were wonderful from the start of the day, but as it continued and more friends and family members were brought into the picture, it went from great to unforgettable. When we began our day at the girls’ prep location, there was a buzzing of excited energy. When we arrived at the park and the couple got to see one another for the first time that day and spend time with their bridal party, things were even more fun. And when their families arrived for photos, there was such a sweet, enthusiastic, joyful mood in the air that’s unique to the occasion of two families celebrating their loved one promising their life to the one they love most. Brooke and Jake were visibly energized and eager as the ceremony time neared, and their families and friends were an integral part of the entire rest of the evening. Jake’s siblings gave readings during the ceremony, the Maid of Honor and Best Man gave unforgettable speeches, their parent dances were simply joy-inducing, and when the time came to dance almost every guest was on the floor at some point in the night.
It was clear that the couple’s planning efforts made the day go smoothly, but the thing that made it truly special was the love Brooke and Jake share between one another and their loved ones.
Mr. & Mrs. Stenger, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. It was so beautiful, and I know your marriage is going to be even more so <3
