Bursting at the seams with love. That’s how I would describe Matt & Ellayna’s wedding day. Love for each other, love for God, love from family and friends, love for family and friends, love in the form of tears and hugs and vows and laughter and dancing and celebrating. I think marriage paints one of the greatest pictures of the way God loves us, and that love was manifested and felt throughout this whole day. The presence of the purest warmth and joy was undeniably palpable. And I wouldn’t expect anything less from a day that marked the beginning of two absolutely incredible people starting the greatest adventure of their lives.
When the hair was curled, the ties tied, and the dresses put on, it was time for the first look, and the misty rain stopped just in time. I could say a lot about this moment, but I think it’s better to let you see for yourself.
The bridal party was ready to go, and let me tell you - this was a fun one. They were all too distracted by being there for their best guy & gal to complain about the chilly weather.
Next came one of my favorite parts of the day - bride & groom portraits. Matt and Ellayna have this easy way about them that makes photographing them a breeze. They are equal parts weird/goofy/hilarious and heartfelt/loving/gentle.
After we’d finished portraits and gone inside to warm up & relax for a moment, it was time for the ceremony. I can’t even begin to describe how genuine, joyful, and emotional this union was. It was clear that the room was filled with people who have been touched by this couple. There wasn't a dry eye in the room as they read the vows they wrote and promised their forevers to each other.
After the vows were exchanged and the rings put on fingers, the reception began. Speeches were given, good food was eaten, and dances were shared. I don’t know if there’s ever been a more packed dance floor or a happier bunch of wedding guests. It was the perfect way to end the most beautiful celebration.
Matt & Ellayna, THANK YOU for allowing me to be a part of your best day ever. May you have many, many years of the same kind of joy you experienced on this day. <3
